- When he was growing up, Raymond
- Berry was a skinny kid whose eyesight
- was so bad that he couldn't read the big
- "E" on the eye chart. He wore thick
- glasses when off the field, and contact
- lenses when on it. Sometimes, he wore
- special goggles inside his helmet.
-
- He also wore a canvas back brace, and
- one of his legs was longer than the
- other. "IΓÇÖm not fast, strong, or big,"
- Raymond once said. "I knew I had to
- concentrate more, practice harder, give
- more of myself than most." And he did,
- overcoming his physical limitations to
- become one of the NFLΓÇÖs all-time
- greats.
